Heat/Ventilation Info for Capital Sports Center Spectators, Guests, Athletes & Vendors
Q: Is there AC/Heat and is it hot/cold in the building?
A: The Capital Sports Center is located in a former Air Force Hangar on McClellan AFB (now McClellan Business Park). Unfortunately, there is no A.C. in the lobby or main space of the building and it does get warm and stuffy in here.
IF YOU HAVE UNDERLYING HEALTH CONCERNS OR MEDICAL ISSUES THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO HEAT, PLEASE CONSIDER THAT BEFORE ATTENDING A TOURNAMENT OR EVENT HERE AT CSC.
We do our best to try to mitigate the heat with opening doors for cross-breezes (when possible), swamp coolers, air vents in the ceiling to pull hot air out, and floor fans around the facility. However, it still does get warm in the facility and air flow towards the back of the building isn't the best.
PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY with extra water, ice, personal fans, etc. We have cold water and drinks available for purchase, as well as two drinking fountains, and a Bottle Filling Station, to refill water bottles. Please plan accordingly as a spectator, guest, athlete or vendor.
In the Winter, it is cold in here, albeit not as cold as it is outside, but still cold. Please plan accordingly as a spectator, guest, athlete or vendor.

What's new @ CSC?
Just installed a brand new water bottle filling station! Our aim is to reduce plastic waste and provide easier access to clean, filtered water.
PARKING INFO
Parking is free at CSC! We want to make sure all attendees at Capital Sports Center understand where to park for NCVA events at this facility. General Attendee parking is available in the large parking lot across the street from the facility (area marked in green on the map above). There is no parking allowed along the curb of the General Attendee parking. Parking must be in a marked and designated spot.
No parking is allowed in the spaces firectly in front of CSC or our neighboring businesses. Your car will be towed if you park there. This includes cars who park to "just drop something off" or only running something inside. Your vehicle is subject to tow at the owner's expense in any area outside of the green area marked on the map above.
A limited amount of Handicap parking (marked in blue on the above map) is available directly in front of the Capital Sports Center building. Please ask the parking attendant so they can guide you to the correct parking area.
